
Ingredients:

400g minced beef

400g minced pork
-
300ml extra virgin olive oil

1 diced brown onion
-
6 diced garlic cloves
-
1 bottle of tomato sauce
-
1 cup of stock
-
A covering of basil
-
Pepper and salt to taste

Method:

Heat oil in a large pot

Add diced onions and cook on medium high until golden brown, continuously stirring

Add diced garlic and cook for a minute continuously stirring

Turn down the heat and cook for another minute, still stirring

Gradually add meat and cook for around 3 minutes

Add tomato sauce and cook for 3 minutes, stirring lightly, then let it simmer

Add stock and carrots, cook it for a minute
-
Add salt, pepper and basil to taste

Finally let it simmer on low heat for as long as you have! Around 4 hours is best.
