
Ingredients:

Shortcrust pastry
Filling ingredients

5 green apples – cut and peeled into small slices or chunks

2 tbsp lemon juice

¼ cup plain flour
-
¼ tsp ground cloves
-
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
-
1½ tsp ground cinnamon
-
½ cup sugar
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
Crumble ingredients
-
½ cup brown sugar
-
1 tsp ground cinnamon
-
¾ plain flour
-
1/3 unsalted melted butter
Method:

Stir the filling ingredients in a bowl using a rubber spatula until well combined, sit aside for 10 minutes

Preheat oven to 190°c

Combine the crumble ingredients until thick and crumbly

Place the pastry in a pie tin, then put the apple mixture and crumble in the tin

Bake for 20 minutes, then cover the pie with foil, turn the oven down to 180°c and bake for a further 30 minutes

Allow the pie to cool for at least 3 hours to allow the filling to thicken up

Serve with vanilla ice cream for a delicious dessert!
