Ingredients:

  • 200g softened butter

  • 90g icing sugar

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 250g plain flour

  • 2g baking powder

  • 5g wattle seeds (optional but delicious!)

 

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°c

  2. Lightly cream the butter and sugar

  3. Mix in the egg yolk

  4. Fold in flour, baking powder and wattleseed

  5. Roll into small balls (a bit under a tablespoon)

  6. Place onto sheet and lightly press down to flatten

  7. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown
     

Chefs tip:

You don't need to include the wattleseed if you don't live in Australia but they do add a delicious taste and crunch to the shortbread!
